Cookie Policy

Version 3.0 — Last updated: August 10, 2026

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognize your device and store information about your preferences or previous actions.

ChatSense uses strictly necessary cookies for the operation of the platform and, exclusively with your prior consent, analytics and advertising measurement cookies (Google Analytics 4 and Meta Pixel) on the public pages of the website. Consent is collected through a banner displayed on the public pages and may be refused or withdrawn at any time, without affecting your use of the platform.

2. Cookies We Use

We use the following cookies and storage technologies:

2.1. Authentication Cookies

  • access_token — JWT access token for the platform. HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, Secure. Expiration: 10 minutes. Automatically renewed via refresh token.
  • refresh_token — Session renewal token. HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, Secure. Expiration: 7 days. Used to issue new access tokens without requiring re-login.

These cookies are essential for maintaining your authenticated session. Without them, you would need to log in for every action on the platform. They are HttpOnly cookies (inaccessible by JavaScript) and Secure (transmitted only over HTTPS).

2.2. Preference and Consent-Record Cookies

  • cs-theme — Stores your theme preference (light/dark). Stored in localStorage (not an HTTP cookie). Persistent until you change it.
  • cs-analytics-consent — Records your decision to accept or refuse the analytics and advertising cookies described in section 2.4. Validity: 12 months. This is a strictly necessary cookie used to honor your choice.

2.3. Chat Widget Cookies

  • Visitor session — When a visitor uses the chat widget embedded on a website, a session token is stored in the browser's localStorage to maintain conversation continuity, including after the tab or browser is closed. The visitor may end it at any time by clearing site data in the browser settings.

2.4. Analytics and Advertising Cookies (subject to consent)

On the public pages of the website (landing, blog and help pages), we use the technologies below only after your consent, given through the cookie banner:

  • Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — Statistical measurement of audience and use of the public pages, to understand how visitors reach the website and improve its content.
  • Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — Measurement of the effectiveness of advertising campaigns run on Meta's platforms.

If you refuse consent, these technologies are not loaded. You may withdraw your consent at any time by deleting the cs-analytics-consent cookie or by clearing site data in your browser settings (section 5).

3. Cookies We Do NOT Use

ChatSense does not use any of the following categories of cookies or technologies:

  • Cookies within the authenticated platform — The logged-in area of the platform does not use analytics or advertising cookies; only the strictly necessary cookies of sections 2.1 to 2.3
  • Other analytics tools — We do not use Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar services
  • Analytics or advertising cookies without consent — The technologies in section 2.4 are only loaded after express consent

  • Device fingerprinting — We do not collect device fingerprints

4. Legal Basis

The cookies in sections 2.1 to 2.3 are strictly necessary for the provision of the contracted service, thereby not requiring specific consent under:

  • LGPD Art. 7, V — Processing necessary for the performance of a contract
  • GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) — Processing necessary for the performance of a contract
  • ePrivacy Directive Art. 5(3) — Exemption for strictly necessary cookies

The analytics and advertising cookies in section 2.4 are used exclusively on the basis of the data subject's consent (LGPD Art. 7, I; GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), collected through the cookie banner and revocable at any time by deleting the cs-analytics-consent cookie or through your browser settings. The use of Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel entails an international transfer of data to Google LLC and Meta Platforms, Inc. (United States), carried out under arts. 33 et seq. of the LGPD and, for visitors located in the European Economic Area, also on the basis of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, to which Google LLC and Meta Platforms, Inc. adhere, recognized by the European Commission's adequacy decision of July 10, 2023.
